Some smiles are worth the wait

Not all smiles can be restored in a matter of weeks. I often get clients coming to my office for a consultation wanting a perfect smile TOMORROW! We live in a world where we can have groceries at our door within hours and any information we need is at our fingertips with a click or swipe, so what can’t we have a perfect smile just as quickly? It is important to remember that anything worthwhile is worth waiting for. You probably can get a perfect smile tomorrow but it may not be beautiful and natural and as conservative to your tooth structure as you would like. Always remember your smile is your trademark it is what leaves a first and lasting impression, in my world it is your most valuable possession, so make sure you treat it right and do what is best for the long run.

Here is a case I wanted to share with you that took about a year to complete. This patient came in with crowding, a missing canine and a crown that didn’t match. We discussed his options of aligning the teeth and making space for restorations that would be ultra-conservative and remove very little tooth structure. The patient agreed to doing Invisalign first to get the teeth in the right position prior to doing final restorations.

Invisalign took approximately 9 months with the use of Propel to accelerate the movement. Here are the before and afters after Invisalign.

Here you can see space was left because the crown on the left central was much wider than the right central

After Invisalign we did 8 very thin, veneers and one crown on the left incisor. Needless to say the patient is more than happy with the final result. (This case has also been featured at here)
