Some of my Favorite things

Ok so its been super cold here in California, the coldest I can ever remember it. Its to the point that I have had to put some of my favorite products away because they are just not doing it for me. I don’t know if you have experienced the same but here are some products I have become obsessed with this winter:

  1. Beautycounter Body oil in Citrus Rosemary. I love the whole Beautycounter line and what it stands for, but this oil is definitely a favorite. I love to use it before I get out of the shower. The scent is really warming and it does an excellent job of keeping the moisture in my skin.

  2. Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm. This little guy is truly my best friend. With the heaters on all the time and fighting of colds left and right this is the only stuff I have ever tried and it really works. I also love how it has SPF in it as well.

  3. Dry Brushing. Ok I have to admit I first thought the the concept of dry brushing was so barbaric and aggressive. Once I tried it I realized it was exactly what my dry skin needed. Not only does it help improve circulation, but it is an excellent exfoliator and it has tremendously helped me keep my skin stay more moisturized all year round. I love to use it before I get in the shower and then use the body oil before I get out, AHHHMAZING.

  4. Beautycounter Cleansing Balm. This stuff is so velvety and amazing. I used to use Banilla’s Clean It Zero which was much more affordable, but I would go through it so fast. Beautycounter’s formula is much more dense and velvety, a little goes a long way. It does an amazing job of cleaning your skin without drying you out.

  5. Skinny Oil Coconut oil. I love this oil for oil pulling. With allergies and the common colds of winter this stuff is amazing for your mouth and gums. I like to use it in the morning before I brush and at night before I go to bed. If you don’t know about oil pulling I am going to do a whole post on it this week, but it is amazing for keeping you gums moisturized with all the mouth breathing that occurs during winter. Ever notice when your sick your gums in the front of your mouth bleed more? This has to do with the vacuum effect that mouth breathing does to your gums drying out all the moisture and caking any un-removed plaque under your gums irritating them even more.

  6. Shea Butter Hand Cream. Washing my hands and wearing gloves really dries out my hands, let alone the cold weather. This stuff is always my go to and I carry it with me everywhere!

So what are you favorite products have you tried any of these?
